Southeast Colorado | Chisels have been run on most of the blowing fields.......but even the worst of those are blowing again.
I guess normally you'd hope to have built a little sub moisture by the fallow period before this wheat was planted. Then if you lose the top moisture and your crop either never emerges or blows out due to rough dry conditions, you could then plant it back to milo or corn this spring after the crop insurance releases those acres. However, this year there really is no sub moisture to speak of. One would be well served to just fallow again and see where we are come fall. | |
