North Central MN | I grow Japanese millet here every year as a double drop. My cattle love it but it's put up as baleage. No way to get it dry. See protein levels 14-16. I know better to try and get it dry. Look for a week with no rain chances around boot stage, cut, wait 4 days, rake, bale and wrap. Don't have to deal with frozen net wrap or twine in the winter either as its wrapped. Nitrogen and sulfur is key if you want good components and yield. | |
