| Part of our SeedCommand system includes a new module called the “Clutch Control Module.” We have designed it to specifically control the Tru Count solenoid and air operated clutches. The module is $600 list price. If you already have a Liquid DirectCommand wiring harness that runs from the tractor to the implement, a Clutch Control Module will plug in at the same place as the Liquid Control Module.
We discourage using the Liquid Control Module to control the Tru Count clutches. The reasons the Clutch Control Module is better are…
1. With the Clutch Control Module, you can setup to log and map a hybrid or variety. Your hybrid/variety logs and maps based on when the clutches go on and off on a section-by-section basis. This is also true when logging more than one hybrid in a split planter situation. The Liquid Control Module does not allow selecting a hybrid/variety product at all. It only logs and maps liquid products. At harvest, Insight will automatically switch to the hybrid or variety your harvesting if you mapped them during planting. The point is you lose this functionality at harvest if you control the clutches with the Liquid Control Module instead of the Clutch Control Module.
2. The Liquid Control Module also requires a flow meter signal to record coverage. The Clutch Control Module turns coverage on and off when each section is turned on and off by the clutches.
