Last spring we ran the prototype air clutches from Tru-Count controlled by the Insight and Direct Command. We had three of our customers also running the Insight and Direct Command controlling planter clutches. Two of those customers were using the Tru-Count air clutches and the other was controlling 2 JD electric clutches. The air clutches worked fine. I have attached pictures showing the clutches, valves and growing crop pictures. Tru-Count redesigned the clutch, so now it is totally enclosed to keep stalks out.

In order to use the Insight and Direct Command to control the clutches we had to let the Insight think that it was spraying liquid. Of course now with Seed Command that would not be necessary.

We setup a 12 row planter with an air clutch on each row. We ran 10 air valves matched to the Insight’s 10 boom switches with rows 1 & 2 setup on boom switch 1 and rows 11 & 12 set up on switch 10. All the other rows were set up individually on the remaining switches. I understand that the Seed Command will automatically and independently control 12 air valves even though there are only 10 boom switches for manual control. One air valve could supply air to one or more clutches such as on a 24 row planter would have 3 clutches on 1 air valve.
