Subject: Rotting corn seed

Southern Illinois
Planting corn for 25 years, never hated it like the past two.  Used to be when you had a 2 inches or more rain, the only problem I had was getting it through the crust!  Now days, If I get 7 tenths within 48 hours of planting the seed rots!  The ground temp is warm, some corn is emerging in 6 days here, the other is rotting.  What is going on with this 200 buck new age seed?  I plant pioneer (many different numbers), is this happening with other brands too?  If it was April I would shake it off, but when soil conditions are fair and you plant corn at the end of May it should come up!! just venting/ sorry.
