Northern Alberta | I am running an MXS in my '05 Pete. PDI tune to 680HP, runs great pulls hard and the pyro NEVER exceeds 750*. Unfortunately for me, my engine got dusted with only 10,000 hours on it so I had to have it informed. While I was at it, I also put 16:1 pistons in it but did not delete the IVA. Don't really see the point. I had to change a pair of actuators on my wifes MXS years ago but otherwise they have not been a problem at all. Also still running the compound turbos on both trucks. On a good pull I get up to mid to high 60's PSI. The ASERT runs on the principle of the Miller cycle so if you are curious as to the reason for the IVA, search the Miller cycle engine and it will be explained. It will also explain why the ASERT runs higher static compression (18:1) AND higher turbo pressures than most conventional engines. For the record, I can't say that I noticed any change in power when I went from the 18:1 pistons to the 16:1 but the motor DOES run a lot quieter. | |
