Eastern Shore of MD | Recently got a 2006 truck with a MXS prefix C15. Factory 475 hp but was told ‘it was turned up with IVA delete’ when purchased. Took to local guy who is sharp on cats and he hooked computer up and said it was about a 650 tune and he said was safe to run as is.
Truck has no pyrometer but boost gauge will easily peg 50 psi in higher gears (10spd). I’ve only hauled one day with it loaded and I pedal it to keep around 40-45 psi.
I’m a pretty conservative guy and would rather have an engine last me a decade and be passed on a hill than burn one up showing off. What other numbers are you guys seeing? What safe power levels can these engines handle? | |
