Having used a Montag for a while hard to imagine a simpler system. Get a new oil cooler for a TerraGator and mount in front of fan intake, it will keep air warmer and dryer. As you stated junk fertilizer means junk coming out so if its mealy powder don’t expect miracles. Do you take ping pong balls out and clean spotless every year, take your sprayer transfer pump and blast water in tank with fan and meter running, that is sum total once a year cleaning for us.

Consider running potash blend to add some abrasive, maybe you do already. Also consider your fertilizer supplier, when local plant put up new shed fert quality got better, less dust and chunks with added bonus of no wood splinters.

Only time we ever had issues was forgetting lid open and getting a few tenths of rain on top of fert in tank, should have dumped it and washed right away but had to torture ourselves with it thinking it would get better, not.

Have a scale on it and calibrate with first few loads then good until change blends. Have never needed a flow monitor since meter will stop if hose plugs and backs up to meter. Check the seam where poly tank meets SS meter body, if crack in caulk rain can get in manifold and cause build up. You are in Montag’s back yard make sure you check with them, they have been helpful with any issues.
