Subject: 3-18-18 as a substitute for Dry P&K on bean ground?

Soybean ground fertility question:

An 0-60-60 dry fertilizer blend is $85/ac for the material.
Why can't I spray 6 gal/ac of 3-18-18 on the bare soil to achieve the same analysis for less than half the cost?
My dealer says 6 gal of 3-18-18 per ac would be $32.40/ac for the liquid analysis of 0-60-60.
Both would be surface applied on no-till ground. I must be missing something...

If I am wrong, please share any other good alternatives to managing high dry fertilizer prices this year. I farm mostly rented ground that is hungry for fertilizer. Looking for the most economical P&K strategies. Thank you for the help.
