Subject: RE: Fall applied anhydrous guys question

Been running fall NH3 here for many years, for the first 10 years or so we would try other methods to compare yields, always came to the conclusion the fall applied was as good or better in the yield department, even when sometimes the plants showed they ran out sooner. Same rates as spring applied, no N serve. The post above mentions soil conditions being better and I fully agree....the compaction has a chance to freeze out and it seems a guy pushes it moreso in the spring or sidedressing. Last check was in 2015, sidedressed NH3 was off 20 bu vs fall applied.
