Subject: RE: Winterizing a barn

New Enterprise,Pa.
I have a Ritchie frost free water out in an open pasture that only gets used for bred heifers till about the first of the year and are then brought to the main farm and put in with milk cows. We would then take a bunch of dry small square bales and totally cover it. That has worked well in the 10 years we have done that. Apparently the hay provides enough insulation to keep things from freezing and breaking. Granted we don't have the winters like some of you west and north of us.

Thanks Lon
