| About 10 years ago had a cow that was aggressive not taking care of a calf so put them in coral up by the barn (we calve in April out on pasture... had the calf between me and the cow, first day dry enough to go without mudrubbers on, was on an incline, green grass, redwing super soles, not known for excessive traction , slipped went down, cow went across me and the calf 3 times. Lucky neighbor was there he climbed the gate distracted the cow so I could get up, My wife asked how I got the bruise on my side from the waste to the armpit, told a white lie-no use worrying her said did not know. We were building a herd, but put that Snot in a grub row all summer with a calf no bull access. Sold her in the fall, wife was a little up set, told her she was not pregnant- 100% true this time- good thing I was still young enough and tougher then now! Kicker is that cow was not any good! | |
