central michigan | Central Michigan here. In January of 2020 I had seed left in the drill after the disaster of a fall that was 2019, so I went out and pushed it through some frost rather than vacuuming it out and dumping it in the woods. Come April I had a pretty good stand, didn't take it to yield so don't know what it would have made.
That being said I have seed left over because I didn't get all my acres planted this fall. I plan on replanting some wet areas and planting some as cover crop in some areas. Figuring the replant areas 1/2 a crop seeded now is better than the 0-25% crop I have now. Plant thick, like 2.5M seeds your not going to get much tillering so need all the plants you can get. I see on Twitter some Ontario guys were trying this week, I'm still to wet but next week looks better. | |
