NS Canada
I have oiled, rough 2x8s, with rubber belting over top of it, and then a few small angle iron (3/4"?) bolted across it in a few spots to sandwich the belting to the wood and give the cattle grip when they try doing burnouts once caught.

Been on there a few yrs and still solid, the belting seems to keep the wood dry. And its up on scales off the ground.
