Subject: Windows 7 "problem"

Floyd County, Iowa
I have an HP laptop that I bought from my daughters workplace a few years ago when they were upgrading computers. It has the W7 operating system, which I like and want to keep.
The company's IT people deleted their information and programs off this unit, understandably. The problem is that they must have also deleted some of the W7 "components".
I can't download Google Earth for one thing. Something in W7 is missing. There are a few other things that I can't do on this, but can't recall what they are right now.
I primarily use this for internet browsing, Excel, and downloading/storing manuals.
Is there a way I can get the operating system back up to what it was before the IT folks did their thing? If so, how.
