I should have given more information.  He's very active because his wife is a saint.  They, until recently went out to eat but now less because he has such a difficult time swallowing.  They are playing cards with somebody or visiting virtually every day or night.

He has Netflix, Alexa and a cadre of other video subscriptions.  I could never give him running shoes as a joke, I don't think either of us could hold back.  His condition started years ago and progressed to his current state.  This is somebody that I've hunted with, climbed mountains with, raced with and even farmed with.  His disease is a cruel end that he tells me will end most likely with him chocking to death. 

I might go with the Amazon gift, he must have something that he might want or want for his wife.  She continues to take care of him or he'd be in a nursing home.
