Subject: Hall effect sensor causing smoldering soybean residue

Could a bare wire from a Hall effect speed sensor rubbing on metal side panel be enough to cause soybean residue to start smoldering near it? Sensor had been reading correct speed before I found the embers. Can’t find anything else. This is on an R76. Embers we’re in the cavity above/behind discharge chute
