Central PA | its hard to read the diagram but here's what i can make out. The purple is the +12 to energize the starter relay (solenoid). It should only be live when the keyswitch is in the start position. When starting, it looks like the fuel solenoid gets +12 to the pull in coil to get a stronger magnetic field to "pull in". once started, the ignition position of the key (normal run position) the fuel solenoid supplies +12 to the "hold" coil in the solenoid. when the key switch is off, no power should get to either the starter solenoid or the fuel solenoid. if you can unhook the starter power lead to the starter solenoid you could check these voltages with out starting, then check to see if you get the voltage to the pull in terminal (key in start, assistant). then with key in run (IGN) check to see you have +12 to the hold terminal., and nothing to hold or pull in with key swithc off. I suspect you are having a key swithc problem or a solenoid hanging up but odd you would have both starter and fuel solenoid issue. | |
