Subject: RE: lift cultivator for corners?

Near-north Ontario, French River
Depends on the soil, but generally lift on the headlands. We had some really light sand ground, that you could leave the cultivator down with no worries, had some heavy clay that if you left it down ( only running 3 inches deep), the rear of the tractor would get pulled sideways and you'd snap 10 tines if you left it in the ground. When I lifted I only lifted high enough to get the shovels out of the ground, often the baskets were still in contact with the ground, just enough to rub of the wheel tracks .
