Subject: RE: lift cultivator for corners?

North East Wimmera district of Victoria.

Forty years ago, my field cultivator worked only on clean [no trash] loose soil.   3 rows of tines, only 4ft from front row to rear. It just stayed in the ground for 'teardrop' turns when working up and back.

Last cultivator I owned, used for cultivation and seeding, was a trash/minimum till machine, wide clearance, and at least 12 ft from front through to rear. It had to be lifted on turns as otherwise, at 36ft wide, tines dragged sideways with huge strain.

So to me it depends on the implement and the soil conditions.
