North of London | About 2 weeks later than usual but with temperature only up to 13 today and cool we decided to lite the furnace.
Have started it as early as around Sept 25 some years.
So I lined up some wood to feed it for a few days and then added some photos from the last few weeks.
We have a little colour in the trees now but I don't think we have the bright colours we get some years or maybe it has just been so cloudy the colours do not show up.
We had some heavy rain through Ontario in late September.
I only recorded 115mm here but there were reports of up to 200 in 36 hours.
The creek on our place rose enough to tip our foot bridge and so I had to roll it back up and still need to fish a couple railings out of the water.
It also flooded part of the field that I had just taken soys off and planted to winter wheat and the flood waters carried all the soy straw and even last years corns stalks to the low corner and deposited them on the trail and along the edge of the field.
One picture shows the stalks deposited near the top of a berm between the field and the picnic area where the foot bridge is.
The berm is around a metre above the field level
Since the heavy rain ran out of the gras water way down the hill I messed up our dirt lane and excavated the water run to be ready for the next big rain
