Fruita CO | I did a lot of work for a seed corn company that ran a bunch of older tractors. The owner wouldn't allow a can of ether on the place, but I was always tearing down engines that had broken rings...couldn't figure it out until one day the owner himself came into the yard, jumped on the 4010 loader tractor, fired it up, dogged it into gear, & hauled ass like the devil was after him...warmup period was however long it took him to get it in gear & dump the clutch...this was winter, it was probably 40 deg., & the tractor hadn't been started for a while. The light kinda went on about broken rings.
I know those laminated pistons were a bad idea, started in the 4960... | |
