North of London
Where i live the frost free date used to be Sept 20.

In my years of farming we have had light frosts earlier than that and they damaged edible beans early in September BUT in recent years it is usually into October before we get any frost and late in October before we get what is known here as a killing frost where temperature is -2C for at least a couple hours.
It has also been into November a couple times in the past 10 years before thee killing frost came along.

This year we have not even come close to freezing yet with the lowest temperature so far being Oct 1st at 5.6C, cool but no where near freezing.

Now it was down to 10 last night and only rose to 13.4 today with lots of cloud and some showers so we did light the outdoor furnace to start out heating season.
That is the latest we have lit the fire, some years we lit it around Sept 25
