mercer county, il | The battery isn’t a bulletproof spot either. I have several lengths of jumper wires with alligator clips like you, really helps with loaded continuity tests etc.
I was working on our 9150 this spring, and told my 10yo to hook the clip to the - battery terminal.
Nothing would work, couldn’t get continuity to ground etc. so I asked him again if it was hooked up, he gave me a smart answer and the argument ensued, I checked, it was hooked to a negative. Tested the leads, they tested fine, tried different leads. Now I’m mad, and he’s given up on me and gone to work with his 4h calves, so I’m outta help.
About 1 am I realized that the main ground wasn’t hooked to the batteries. I’d cleaned things up and made a new cable, and hadn’t reattached the grounds because I was working on the hot wires next.
In my defense, the small and mid frame 9000 series battery boxes are a pain to work in | |
