Texas
It was during the hot summertime and that year had plenty of days well above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Family member was out driving his pickup when it stalled on him along a busy road. He coasted into a parking lot and called me to come help. I grabbed up several tools and made it to his location. We figured out it had lost spark.

Went through process of trying to diagnose which part had failed. Mind you I’m sweating hard the whole time out in that hot parking lot with daytime temp over 100. That adds to the difficulty. I decide that it must be the distributor. So we head to the nearest auto parts store and buy a new distributor. I put it on and still no spark. At that point I was getting frustrated because it was hotter than hot out in that blazing sun. Eventually found out the new part was defective or somebody returned a defective part before and it got restocked on the store shelf. It looked brand new.
