E.Central MN | I remember the only class in an MBA program that discussed any issues beyond profit and loss. The class was called "ethics in business" or something like that. The key word the professor mentioned was "stakeholders". He said there are several stakeholders that mgmt was supposed to consider when making their decisions: primary is the stockholders, but they also mentioned customers, suppliers, employees, and the community. It sounds fine, but too often the only stakeholder the mgmt is concerned with is themselves, ie, how can they extract more money for themselves. | |
