Subject: NH TR86 varible speed feeder house drive motor

Northeast Missouri
The motor isn't turning, and the acme screw shaft that it turns is free. So I checked, and I have 12v at the plug by the motor when the rocker switch is pressed in the cab.

So I assumed the motor was shot, and I took it off. But on the bench when I touched leads from a 12v battery to it, it ran fine (both directions).

So I'm wondering if this is a case of low amperage reaching the motor. Ideas? Experiences with these?
