Subject: changing a superb/quantum moisture sensor

W.C. MN
Have a SQ20, about ten years old. Dry grain sensor started reading 33% after a rain one day and has been erratic since. The big plastic covered cracked/ fell off. I installed new dry moisture sensor, but now the whole dryer doesn't work when I try to start it. Push 'start' all the lights go out on the board in panel.
Quantum says 'stop' button was pushed. If I unhook the moisture sensors from the slave board, it starts up fine again. I double checked my wiring connections. Just like the old one. If there's a short, any pointers how to find it?? My next thing to try is putting old sensor back on and seeing if it works again. (dryer turns on) In which case would mean bad new sensor I guess.
Any other ideas?
