It’s not gonna have perfect spacing, and some people will say it’s a terrible idea. But I have a neighbor who farms lots of ground and plants 3-4 quarters of corn with an air seeder every year. Doesn’t even try to worry about the rows, combines it with a flex head. Doesn’t sound ideal to me but they don’t have to own a different planter, one air seeder and s couple tillage tractors cover thousands of acres.
Also have heard of people trying it with silage corn, claims of getting more tons and if you have self propelled chopper with a gathering head rows don’t matter.
