Subject: RE: Best shop jack for heavy equipment

E.Central MN
We picked up a few old Duff Norton mechanical screw jacks when a mechanical contractor sold out. They aren't like the old screw jacks that people used to shore up a beam in the basement, these have a ratchet mechanism, some can lift 25 ton, others are rated for 35 ton. Some are about 12" tall, some are about 18" tall. The nice thing is that they don't settle down like a hydraulic jack can do. With any jack, use proper safety precautions before going under any equipment that is being supported with a jack.
