Northern RRV
We are just west of you on the edge of the red river valley. We currently run two 2612s. One we bought new in 2012 and the other was a new holdover we got in 2016. The 2012 has over 12000 acres on it before we had to replace any major wear components this past summer. We ended up putting on new striper plates, roller knives, and the bottom rotary blades. Outside of the bottom rotary blades and few bottom gathering chain sprockets, everything else was original. Never touched a gear box on our 2612s. We had to rebuild a couple of chopping gear boxes on our early model 2608, but nothing on our 2612s. Pretty easy job if you have time. You would be happy with a 2612 for the acres you plan on doing with it. Just watch the roller knife clearance and striper plate wear when you are shopping.
