SC North Dakota | We run around 400. We just use a simple 3 number system. First number designates the year they were born. So cow 834 was born in 2018. This works as long as you don't keep more than 100 as replacements and keep many for more than 10 years. ( the numbers double up) i use cattlemax for record keeping, so in the computer they also get the designated year letter behind the number. I just don't need it on the tag. You can use different colors for ownership also. | |
