Yes, that is how a 3020 works. I cannot explain it but when the sun starts going down they will not feed for nothing. The only way to fix it is by buying a draper. I agree the older 1020's would go longer and so will Deere platforms. I can't explain why. Other than that, I always liked our 3020 but wasn't really too sorry to see it go and welcome a new MacDon draper to the fold.
