If I read correctly, and maybe not, according to Chris's link this solar/wind generator package is $10,000+. Says it will run a refrigerator for 8-12 hrs. Not really practical for stand-by power source like the ICE generators we have now.

It seems those generators will output the power needed, but only for a relatively short time. Maybe if  you live in one of those places where the sun shines for 18 hrs you might have a chance.
