Do not start farming. Every farmer I talk to lost money every day of his life. There is no worse job than being a farmer. You will be miserable till the day you die. You would be better off flipping burgers at McDonald’s.

Lol
To be honest, in my community, most are only rich farmers, although they use old bad technologies such as ploughing

You have A LOT to learn......
Do you think those rich farmers are dumb?
You need to learn what works where YOU are. No til and organic on anything over 20acres here and you will be broke within two years. We have both no til and organic farms around us. Organic guys work their land and the no till guys (only two left and one is starting to work his land because of low yield. The other one has low yield but offsets the loss with other income. We are talking 50bu/ac less then conventional land work on corn)

Ploughing is NOT bad old technology. It's a tool that still has its place and time where it is the best option.
Knowing when and where to use each option is the biggest learning curve and no two years are ever the same.

Yes, I have a lot to learn, but not what you think.

Yes, I think they are dumb... There is nothing difficult to till the soil, put fertilizer, plant a crop and spray it with pesticides. Just make an average 200$ per acre and destroy the environment. This is ridiculous money, when it is costly and time-consuming, when the soil is depleted and the environment is seriously damaged. This is not farming, this is a temporary siphoning of money from nature until nature says stop.

3 rules work in my area as elsewhere - No till, diversity and live plants all year round.
There are huge reserves of nutrients in the soil and in the atmosphere. Find the key to make them available for crops and then forget about fertilizers.

Where you are farming there can't be an excuse for your failures.

And you're right two years cannot be the same. And therefore I will not wait until my crops dry up or my soil is washed away by rain.
