I am going to play devil's advocate here. So all the funds we get as farmers, CFAB? EILD's ARC/PLC, the list can go on and on. Let's ask this question if the government wouldn't have run the programs they did, what would be the outcome of Ag? The Farmer Lender Mediator I'm close friends with said it was on the verge of a mass Bankruptcy in many farms in early 2020. So what are you?

Dairy had been on a losing streak since roughly the end of 2014. The prices before the start of the pandemic were very strong and it looked like we were going to gain ground, or pay back some of the losses from the previous 5 years. Then the crap hit the fan and we were in a strong loss position again. The first couple govt programs brought us back to where we should have been with no pandemic. I have no idea about what happened on the crop side.

I'm not a fan of govt payments, but the pandemic ones were probably needed, at least on the dairy side. I think they had a few too many payments though.
