East of Broken Bow
Yup. It seems to be the worst today with kids. Schools used to teach people to think. Now it seems more emphasis is put on believing what you are told, and not questioning someone else's narrative.
I like to use those ads as examples to my kids to not believe everything they are told, even by me, but rather if something seems not to add up, to do the math yourself, and verify.
Using that same commercial, I had them do the math (and I did it with them) and we figured that if that person averaged 50 MPH they would have to drive 20 hours a day, 7 days a week, to put on that many miles.
Even if they had a gas guzzler that got 15 MPG, it would be 10 hours a day. Now if they lived in a city where they averaged 35 MPH, it would be over 10 hours per day.
So basically, with my kids, we figured that person had to be a trucker, because when you drop down to 8-9 MPG, you can cover that in an 8 hour day, when you factor in stops and breaks.
