NE Iowa | Wonder what the UAW's play is here. Believe I heard the rank and file voted something like 92% against the contract. No way the UAW negotiators didn't know that was going to happen. My guess is Company wouldn't bend to the UAW demands, so UAW said fine - we'll send it to vote, let it get rejected, and meet you back at the table. Given the many seasoned employees Deere decided to show to the door over the past few years, I wonder if their negotiating team might just be slightly 'inexperienced' at this game. Just a guess on my part. | |
