Faunsdale, AL | They will make cavities in pressure treated utility poles. Not looking for bugs.
Some of the larger ones make cavities in living pines so the tree makes a rosin “shield” around and below the opening in response. That supposedly deters snakes.
Hurricane comes through and all the old pines with the cavities snap off at the weakened spot.
I would try hanging/fastening a nest box in front of the place they’re attracted to. Might have to make sure the back wall is metal! | |
