Texas | I use the sulfa salt instead of regular for scours. $7 a block is cheap enough. I leave those out year round instead of white.
I’ve never been able to pencil the lick tubs. Cake, etc.
Heck I can rarely pencil the stuff almost everyone else is doing so maybe my calculator is just broke.
I do know how to read a cow pattie though and condition score the cows to keep them spot on. IMO it’s hard to beat the value of raw grains to supplement protein when needed.
You’d be shocked how fast a few pounds a day of oats will fix some cows needing supplemented.
