I know several people that are 30 minutes away from their cattle. If you can't be farther away than that, where do you go on vacation?
Maybe talk to a neighbor you trust, perhaps one with high school aged kids. Ask if they or the kids could be 'on call' to get cattle in when you get the call. Pay them well, very well, like $200 for an hour of chasing in your cattle and fixing the fence, and they will be very willing to do it again next time. If shelling out $200 every time your cows are out sounds too expensive, start building better fences.

No offense. Don't take many vacations. This is a one man band. Me and my wife took our first vacation this yr. Been married 11 yrs. I have good fences. No school age kids either.
