Subject: RE: “New” washing machine in stock

East central Iowa

Mom & Dad had an Easy washing machine.  It had a spin dry.  The main tub was filled with water from a facet that rotated to the spin dryer.  They'd take the clothes out of the washing machine put them in a tub of clean water and then put them in the spinner, turn the faucet to the spinner and run water while it spun.  That would rinse the clothes completely.  Mom then took the damp clothes and hung them on the line, outside in warm weather or in lines in the basement in cold weather.

There was a model that had a ringer but mom didn't want that because she'd heard of people getting their hands or arms caught and broken in those.

Wash was done on Monday in the basement by mom and dad working together.

I thought there were 2 faucets and I see there were.  I think one was hot water and one was cold.  Look at these levers, I remember those now, shifting to the spin dry and I think it did something else, maybe that opened the drain or changed speed of the washing part.  I can still hear the clunk as dad engaged the washer.
