MN | Growing up at my parents place, we had multiple pine and maple trees near the house and were up on ladders clearing clogged gutters nearly every time it rained it seems like. They tried numerous different "cheaper" alternatives like the foam inserts that go in the gutters or the mesh ones that go on top, and all of them just collected the debris more. Eventually they went with the gutter helmet type of guard that wraps the water around with surface tension and those gutters haven't had to be cleaned in 10+ years.
I have a different brand that works off the same principle on my house and they work just as well.
They can make gutter clips for christmas lights more of a pain, but some styles of clips accommodate it better than others. | |
