Mascoutah, Illinois | We were already 7 millions Americans short of filling all job openings prior to the pandemic beginning in the early part of 2020. The blanket statement of folks "sitting at home collecting a check" is a false narrative. The Gross Domestic Product has grown over the past year which in turn has offered more jobs. The United States as a whole has 1.3 jobs available per American who is in the labor pool. The narrative is not about folks receiving money to stay home. The narrative is we have too many businesses open without enough folks to fill these positions.
