It was about 40 yards past the yard in the road in front of the house. She was going really slow and I assume it struck or was thrashing around, his head wound up in that opening so it just crawled on in.
Yeah, there’s plenty more where he came from, they’re crawling everywhere right now getting ready to hibernate. There’s subject to be snakes in the yard most all the time except late November through about mid March. The non venomous ones usually get relocated to the fence row across the road unless my wife sees them first, in that case they go to snake heaven with the others. Early last week there were two water snakes on the front porch when she was watering flowers, they had to go too.
