Not trying to be a butt, just curious of other sides opinion. But from your perspective what did getting out of afganistan accomplish? By what I saw and heard, the war was basically over, we had very few troops left. We were there to prop up the government in order to prevent terrorism on American soil. Nobody was dying. In my eyes it was a harmful political stunt that will come back to haunt us.
That’s a fair question. The withdrawal agreement was made by the previous guy. I think if Biden had reneged on the agreement fighting would have broken out and we’d be faced with the option of escalating to prop up a corrupt, unpopular government or leaving anyway. Understand that the taliban didn’t attack America on 9/11, Al Qaeda did. |
