I always kind of heard they were scams especially if they are only looking for "accredited investors" per say. However I've also heard some people had luck with returns on Colorado & Nebraska wells.
Part of issue with investment is how it's structured. If your investment is funding the actual drilling of a well it can be lost if the well is a dry hole.
