Prior to RoundUp Ready beans, we had a few fields that had a fairly good infestation of trumpet creeper vines.  Nothing we tried would permanently kill them.  Looking through a garden seed catalog one day I saw they sold trumpet creeper plants for $5.95 each.  Gold mine indeed!
