Central Alberta
Anything really. Straw bales, stover, old posts, scrap lumber, used oil, tires, trimmed branches and logs.
All that heat can be captured in an incinerator with a heat exchanger that cycles water to an underground heat storage tank,
which can be incorporated with geothermal heating.
