An 80 year old death is quite different in life years lost than a 40 year old. Something they don't take in consideration when covid is compared to the Spanish flu or a world war where mostly young people die.

Probably safe to say if it wasn’t for modern medicine a good chunk of the folks that passed from Covid would have passed already from something else.
